When you think of an experienced mountain climber, you might picture a man or woman with sinewy legs, a sunburned face, and windblown hair. You might not imagine a 7 year old girl with over 48 summits under her small belt. Patricia Ellis Herr's memoir, Up: A Mother and Daughter's Peakbagging Adventure, is the story of the two years they spent together summiting peaks in the White Mountains on a quest to join the 4,000 Footer Club. It is the story of one small girl with incredible energy and drive who does not seem to know the meaning of the word "can't." Ellis Herr will be at The Galaxy Bookshop on Tuesday, July 17th, at 7 p.m. to talk about those experiences and sign copies of her book. Thursday July 19, 2012
